01 Barbs
One cane. Two tracks. You leave with thin slices that read as wing or eye — and a laminated copy of every step for the home bench. Bake if the oven is hot; otherwise wrap. The bake card is in the deck.
Pick a track (one, not both)

Done looks like
- Black still shows around the pattern.
- Cells or rings are readable from arm’s length.
- Slices are thin enough to overlay later (about a credit-card or thinner).
- You did not rainbow-blend. You did not pearl the core.
Clock
- 0:00 — Finished jewelry on the table. Safety, blades, bake rule. Name your track.
- 0:15 — Condition. Sheet black at a mid setting. This is the field. Do not skip it.
- 0:30 — Skinner, two colors only. Fold so the blend stripes run the long way.
- 0:55 — Track A: cut blend into strips, black snakes between, compress. Track B: yellow snake, lime sheet, black wrap.
- 1:25 — Track A: leading edge of black + tiny white ticks. Track B: pinch the bullseye into a soft oval.
- 1:40 — Black wrap. Light reduction only. If it splits, cut a window and restack. Do not panic-reduce.
- 2:10 — Slice. Keep four good faces. Optional: lay two slices overlapping on a scrap black disc — that is a preview of 02.
- 2:30 — Bake 15–20 min if the oven is honest; otherwise wrap on parchment with your name.
- 2:50 — Look at 02/03 so the guild can book the next date.

Bake card (if you take it home)
275°F / 135°C, tile or parchment, not a food oven. Thin slices 15–20 minutes. Let cool on the tile. Findings wait until it is fully cool.
